Meet The Artists


Judith Alban-Wilk, Soprano, completed her musical education at the New England Conservatory, the Boston
Conservatory, Mannes College of Music, and Julliard. She trained vocally with Bissy Roman in Rome Italy and
coached with Hans Peter Schilley and Dr. Marcel Pravy in Vienna, Austria. Ms. Alban-Wilk has performed
extensively in opera and concerts in Italy, France, Austria, Spain & Greece. In the United States, she has sung at Lincoln Center, Washington Botanical Gardens, the New York Cultural Society and the National Arts Club. Her Operatic appearances include Philadelphia Lyric Opera, New Jersey State Opera and the Aspen Music Festival. She has recorded “La Traviata” with Maestro Anton Guardagno and has had several concerts televised for RAI, Italy. She has won critical acclaim from many Italian newspapers for her solo recitals. When performing in the Music festival ”E Lucevan le Stelle“ the newspaper Il Corriere Aretino stated….”truly fine and very exciting; She has won the musical heart of Italy”.

Edward Bruce Stevenson, Tenor. Mr. Stevenson has sung as a leading Tenor in opera houses in Europe
Israel, Canada & with opera companies in the United States, including Dallas, Miami ,the Met West in Denver, the Seattle Opera and the Cleveland Ballet. He has recorded for RCA Victor & for Italian Radio & Television (RAI) in Naples. He is remembered for his performances at Rutgers as Lensky in “Eugene Onegin,” the Duke in “Rigoletto”, Edgardo in “Lucia di Lammermoor”, and Ricardo in “Ballo in Maschera ”. Last December, he received enthusiastic notices for his performance as the Tenor Soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony “Ode to Joy” and Handel’s “Messiah” with the Groton Chamber Symphony & Chorale.

Eugene Flam, Baritone. Mr. Flam is continuing his very versatile career. After receiving a Degree in Voice from the Julliard School, he performed with the Little Orchestra Society and the Metropolitan Opera Studio. He performed Papageno with Boris Goldovsky’s Company and also performed with the Arlington Opera and the National Lyric Opera. He has made numerous appearances on Television; including a forty – five minute documentary about his life. Mr. Flam was asked to write a libretto to a Dracula Opera. It developed into a novel about a descendant of the actual Count, who is innocent & falsely accused, the novel was optioned for a movie. Because of the coincidence, he auditioned and received the part of Dracula in a Modern Opera. The opera was based on the classic tale. Mr. Flam has received rave reviews in the New York Times for his interpretation of Schubert’s “Winterreise” at a recital performed in Carnegie Hall. Mr. Flam served as Cantor at the Actor Temple and has held many positions for the High Holy Days. He is probably the only singer to sing at the Old Vic in London. He also teaches voice and has many students who have sung at the Metropolitan Opera, Broadway & Temples. He even has a Rock Star in his roster.

Ellen Chandler, Soprano. Winner of the International Beaux Awards for Dramatic Wagnerian Soprano and the Magda Dahl-Frank Colasanto Scholarship Award. Her teachers in Drama were Lloyd Richards, head of the Yale School of Drama, & Frank Corsaro, director at City Opera/State Theater. Her voice teachers include Professor Elizabeth Rado of Vienna, Austria and Dr. Edward Dwyer of Columbia University. Ms. Chandler has had a varied career, performing in Europe and the United States... La Follia Magazine in their review stated that ‘She was the consummate Singing Actress with the Golden Voice”. Her roles include Siglinde from “Walkure”, Tosca in “Tosca”, Mimi in “La Boheme” & Aida in “Aida” etc. She has also appeared in off B’way productions such as “The Threepenny Opera” and television, “Mack & Meyer for Hire” etc.

Kenneth Newbern, Musical Director. Mr. Newbern is a native Floridian and Graduate of Rollins College and the Julliard School of Music. He is a well-known Vocal Coach and Pianist. He is also a “budding” Composer. He is the Musical Director of the Aquarius Opera Workshop, and Musical Director of the Creative Opera Company, Ltd.
